Antique furniture, jewelry, and beautiful works of art are featured in this month's Staff Picks. Read on to learn about what our staff is loving this month!
Staff member Michael's staff pick is the above Antoine Blanchard Paris street scene painting. Michael says, "Featured in the background of the painting is L'Eglise de la Madeleine (Madeleine church). Seeing this evocative painting brings me back to my trip to Paris & walking right past this beautiful Greek revival edifice. Blanchard is known for his beautifully lit post-impressionistic street scenes. To paraphrase Rick in Casablanca, thanks to talented artists like Blanchard, I'll always have Paris."
Lori has chosen a beautiful satinwood game table as her Staff Pick. "Every section of this table unleashes a new possibility for family fun," she says. "I love this table!"
Staff member Misty's choice is a French curio cabinet. "This is such a unique, detailed piece of furniture," she says. "Durability will not be an issue, as this curio is created of cast metal, not wood, and accented with marble. The tufted satin makes a beautiful backdrop for your most prized collection. It is also illuminated!"
Sales team member Vida selected an Edwardian-era pendant/brooch this month. "It is a very special piece from 1900. It doubles as a pendant and a brooch, and features a center baroque pearl along with .90 carat total weight in sapphires and 2.26 carat total weight in diamonds. It is a perfect choice for a collector of fine antique pieces."
Kathy's choice is a stunning Italian bib necklace. "Why not start the year with a special piece of Italian jewelry? This stunning necklace is from Venezia, Italy and features a soft draped bib design in a mixture of 18 karat yellow and white gold. Its design is unique but very wearable and it will softly follow the contours of your neck."
Judith Hale has chosen a piece by pastel artist Jannene Behl. "I've chosen Jannene Behl's magnificent pastel rendering of Summer Reflection at Devereaux Slough. This painting is so quiet, a welcome solace to a busy world around it. Jannene accomplished her work with a delicate hand in minute detail and softness. Perfectly framed for elegance."
