Vintage Italian Antonio Ugo The Bather bronze sculpture, circa 1925. This vintage bronze sculpture The Bather by Antonio Ugo (1870-1956) is marked by Foundry Fond Laguna Napoli. It shows a figure in motion, which is unique, because it is very hard to achieve motion in bronze. This is very well done.
About Antonio Ugo
Antonio Ugo was an Italian sculptor born in 1870. He studied in Rome under Ercole Rosa. Many of his works were acquired by the Royal Family. In 1910, he became an honorary member of the Academy of Brera. Shortly before his death, he donated 40 of his pieces to the Gallery of Modern Art in Palermo.
