Antique American wine cooler or cellarette in walnut with porcelainized steel, circa 1850. Eastlake or Renaissance Revival style.
If you are looking for a unique piece of furniture to add to your collection, this is it! This Cellarette is from the middle of the 19th Century. It is a wine cooler, lined with porcelainized steel above to hold your wine, and below would hold ice blocks. It is all wrapped in a warm carved walnut façade. The spigot and hardware are beautifully intricate and all original to this piece. It would be beautiful to display and quite the discussion starter, even if you chose not to use it for its intended purpose.
