About Ellsworth Woodward

Born in Seekonk, Massachusetts, Ellsworth Woodward attended the Rhode Island School of Design and then traveled to Munich to study with Car Marr, Richard Fehr and Samuel Richards. Although he painted oils and made etchings, Ellsworth preferred watercolors and in 1936 the Fine Arts Council established a prize in his name.
