About Ted Goerschner
Ted Goerschner is a professional in the true sense of the word. He has taught for the past 20 years, in both workshops and art schools. He was a professor of painting and anatomy for five years at the Ducret School in New Jersey after attending Tampa University, Florida, and the Art Students League in New York City.
The fine work of Goerschner has been exhibited at the National Academy of Design and the Salmagundi Club, both of New York City, and Rockport Art Association in Massachusetts. Current galleries representing him include Zantman’s, Carmel, CA; Solvang Antiques Fine Art Gallery in Solvang; Gallery Gabrie, Pasadena, CA; Lagerquest, Atlanta, GA.
Goerschner and his work have been included in numerous publications, including U.S. Art, July-Aug. ’89, American Artist, Sept. ’77, Southwest Art, July ’81, and Art & Graphics Today, July ’81. Publications including his work are Twenty Oil Painters & How They Work (Watson Guptil), and Contemporary Western Artists. Watson Guptil published Ted’s book, Oil Painting: The Workshop Experience, in 1995.
Being a person who loves the outdoors, fishing, & golf, Ted feels incredibly blessed to live in California’s pristine Santa Ynez Valley. The area has a powerful influence, stimulating his artistic sensibility. His travels through Europe appear to chariot charismatic creativity as well.
Ted was recently made a master signature member of Oil Painters of America, and was named Oil Painter of America for the year 2001.
Sadly, Ted passed away on December 23, 2012.
