Solvang Antique Center gets new home, name

June 14, 2012 — The Solvang Antique Center is moving to a new location after more than 20 years in business on First Street.

Along with the shift from 486 First St. to 1693 Copenhagen Drive is a new name — Solvang Antiques — and a new logo.

While the new location will be open beginning Friday, June 22 the old location will be closed Tuesday, June 26 to Friday, June 29 in preparation for a moving sale which starts at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30.

Everything in the store will be 20 percent to 80 percent off. All sales will be final and no-interest financing for six months on approved credit will be available. Some discounted items will be available online at www.solvangantiques.com.

Since 1990, Solvang Antique Center has been located in an 8,000-square-foot showroom featuring more than 65 dealers participating from as far away as London with European and American furniture, restored clocks and music boxes.

In 2010, Dwight and Arlene Steffensen bought the business, which has been undergoing a transformation ever since.

The new location is meant to reflect a renewed focus on jewelry, fine art, watches, scales, telephones, bells, cast iron toys, glassware, sterling silver, Asian antiques and antique wine paraphernalia.

The business also will be featuring a fine arts gallery area featuring paintings.
