In observance of our current Small Works Show, we'll be presenting weekly features of artists from our gallery. Our last Artist Feature is acclaimed painter Sheryl Knight.
Sheryl is an award-winning California artist and has been painting for many years. She is best known for her vibrant oil paintings. Her strong, expressive style could best be described as varying from loose realism to impressionistic.
She paints plein air (on location) as well as in her studio. Her subject matter includes much of the local scenery of the Central Coast, together with places in the Sierras and other parts of California.
“I feel my paintings are a personal reflection of the world around me. I enjoy creating works of art that are inspirational and uplifting. Art has been a lifetime passion for me. Whether it is painting, drawing, studying, or enjoying various forms of art, I never seem to tire of it. I enjoy the use of bold color with an emphasis on light and shadow. I believe that is where the real drama comes from in reflecting the beauty of creation. Whether painting and sketching outdoors or in my studio, I feel incredibly blessed to live on the Central Coast and to be an artist.”
Sheryl is represented by Heritage West Gallery in Paso Robles, Judith Hale Gallery in Solvang, Bronze, Silver & Gold Gallery in Cambria, & Gallery Los Olivos in Los Olivos. Additional work can be seen at our Small Works Show, ending December 31, as well as on our website here.
