Would Solvang Antiques be interested in buying or consigning an antique from me?

We carry a wide range of items in our store and on our website. We look for items of exceptional quality and condition, especially those that have a noted maker or possess an important provenance. If you have an item you would like to offer us for purchase or consignment, please use our contact page to submit photos of the item, or items, along with any information you have about them. Also please include your asking price, or net amount for consignment, within your email and let us know if you are only interested in selling, or if consignment is an option.

How do I use your search feature?

The search feature on the Solvang Antiques’ website will only search through the items located within our website, not throughout the entire web. Simply type in the search box a phrase or single word of an item you are looking for and click on the search button. It will return a list of items, with the best answers towards the top of the list. If you have been into our store and have the item number you are looking for, enter it into the search box within quotation marks, for example: “SAUC 103 P”, to have the exact item returned from the search. Please note that not all items in our store are featured on our website. If you don’t see what you are looking for, then we urge you to contact us.

What happens after I place an order using a secure online transaction?

Once you have placed your order online, Solvang Antiques confirms your order with an instant email confirmation. If you have ordered large items, which require a shipping quote, you will receive an email containing your final invoice including your shipping quote the next business day. If the item can be sent to you via common carrier such as UPS, it will be processed and shipped within two business days following payment confirmation, except in the case of a clock or watch purchased with warranty*. If the item is too large to ship via common carrier, or requires special handling, we will contact you via phone or email to make arrangements for hand delivery. We ship worldwide, safely and insured. Buyer pays for actual shipping, handling and insurance. International clients are responsible for duties and taxes levied by their country of import.

If you do not receive an instant confirmation, please check your spam filter. You may need to search through your “junk mail” and “bulk mail” folders as well. To make sure that you will receive emails from us add “info@solvangantiques.com” to your list of “safe” email addresses.

Why must you ship to my billing address?

For the security of our clients, we will only ship to the billing address as listed for the credit card provided. If the address does not match, the client will be contacted and the order will be canceled.

How can I find out what the shipping cost will be for an item?

Many of our items already have shipping fees calculated for destinations within the United States, which will show in your cart when you are checking out. Fees for shipping large items vary depending on the value and size of the item to be shipped along with the destination and the mode in which it will be carried. If you would like to receive a shipping quote prior to ordering, you may use the "Request Shipping Quote" tab on the bottom of each item page. If you choose not to receive a prior quote and just place your order, you will receive an email the following business day with your updated invoice, including the actual shipping quote.

When will my order arrive?

Items that can be shipped via common carrier such as UPS will be sent within two business days following payment confirmation, except in the case of a clock or watch purchased with warranty*. Common carrier deliveries normally take 3-7 business days to arrive for US locations. You will receive an email with tracking information once your package has shipped. You may also sign on to your account with us to access your tracking information. If you have ordered a large item that requires hand delivery, you will be contacted by our dispatcher to arrange delivery. What if I order a clock or watch with warranty?

What if I place an order for an item that has already been sold?

While we have made every effort to prevent this from occurring, mistakes do happen. All of the items listed in our online catalog are also for sale in our Solvang gallery. In the rare occasion that an item sells in our gallery and has not been removed from our website before you purchase it, you will be notified the next business day and if you have made a payment, your payment will be refunded.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Solvang Antiques has been successfully shipping antiques around the world for more than 35 years safely and insured. While almost all of our items arrive to their final destination without a problem, we have prepared for the unlikely event that an item may be damaged in shipment. Every item that is shipped is fully insured.   **Please DO NOT throw away the box or packing materials. Contact Solvang Antiques immediately 1-805-686-2322, so that we may work with the shipper for inspection if necessary. If your item is damaged during shipping, you will have the option of receiving a full refund, having the item repaired at no cost to you, or exchanging the item for something else either in our Solvang gallery or our online store. The choice is yours.

 
What if I cannot add the item to my collection?

If the item is already marked as being sold, you will not have the option of adding that item to your collection. Our items are unique and there is only one available.   **Also, you MUST have “Cookies” enabled on your web browser to add items to your shopping cart. If you are using the Microsoft Explorer browser, this means that your security settings must not exceed “Medium High” (the second-highest privacy setting under “Tools” – “Internet Options”). If you are using the Firefox Browser, you must allow cookies (go to drop menu icon on browser toolbar and select "Preferences" – “Privacy”, check “allow sites to set cookies”). For Google Chrome go to menu icon on browser toolbar and in Cookies section make sure Allow local data to be set is selected.
