well-proportioned Dutch double bonnet-top tall case clock in
burl walnut with unusual figural marquetry, scroll-form plinth
and hairy paw feet. The brass and silvered dial finely engraved
with clouds in the arch, signed Adam Heymuys, Amsterdam. Five-pillar movement with Dutch striking on two bells, seconds dial, day, date and month calendar, astrological signs, moon dial and tides, 102" high by 22" wide by 13" deep, c.1750. Offered at $43,500 |
